"Now Harold, you know you like Mother..."

A Mother in Law Poem

MOTHER IN LAW STORIES

The Prince, The Princess & The Mother-In-Law - It could have been a marriage made in heaven if not for the Mama.

There once was a Prince who sat on a gold throne,
With his Princess beside him, he was not alone.
Next to her sat an ancient old toad,
One that Prince wanted to kick to the road.

The old toad had a name, she was called Mama,
She had hair of silver, and the nostrils of a llama.
Castle life was miserable with Mama around,
For she was always tearing the good Prince down.

Princess loved Mama and took heart in her words,
She was a wise old owl, a tough old bird.
Prince loved his Princess, but not her Mama,
Who had hair of silver and the nostrils of a llama.

One day a magician passed through the kingdom,
Prince paid him handsomely, a nice fat sum,
For making Mama vanish from the castle,
Prince was glad, gone was his hassle.

Princess was sad, wanted her Mama back,
Protested by dressing in ashes and a sack.
She now looked familiar to the Prince,
Just like her Mama, he recompensed.

Time passed and Princess continued to whine,
Morning, noon and night when the moon shined.
Prince decided that one can't run from Mama,
For a daughter is just a Mama with a comma.
