Should You Give Up Your Bed For Your Mother-In-Law?
It's official! The answer is a HUGE NO!
Why?
Because you don't like your mother-in-law?
No.
Because your mother-in-law doesn't like you?
No.
Because you're using this to pay her back for an eternity of torment?
No.
Then why?
No matter where you sleep, if it isn't inside your own bed, you're sleeping in a strange & unfamiliar place. You may find your bed a heavenly asset to your relationship. You may be very good and flip the mattress monthly. You may dress it with the prettiest sheets, comforters, and pillows in town.
It's YOUR bed.
It's NOT your mother-in-law's bed.
Therefore, she will be sleeping in a strange spot and odds are, she won't sleep well anywhere she sleeps for the night.
If you have a lovely mother-in-law, she will beg you."Please do not give up thy bed for me."
She's smart and understands the strange bed/no sleep scenario.
So, keep your comfortable bed and put mother-in-law in the guest room. After all, that's what the guest room is for - and don't fret if the bed there is not as comfortable as the one in your bedroom. Your wonderful mother-in-law will understand - heck, she'll even expect it. In fact, she'll probably purchase you a brand new, very comfy mattress set for your guest room come morning.
