Mama's Boy
Does your man appear to be non-surgically attached to his mama? If so, you may experience times when you totally resent both the mama and the boy (that guy you're with).
Because sonny idolizes his mama, you may feel in the way - or like a third person who is continually trying to sever the hands of Ann and Andy.
You may feel frustrated or angry. You may feel hopeless, like a lost cow in a field of prickly pear. But no matter how loud you moo, a mama's boy is generally more attune to his mother's voice than the woman he is with.
Nature is a powerful thing. They say that a human baby can smell the milk of its mother from twenty feet away - no matter what the size of the container. And like it or not, humans who are biologically related tend to share habits, emotions and yes, feelings of love which is tied to a life-long history of memories for the mama's boy.
Many times a mama's boy doesn't even realize that he's encroaching upon his true love's feelings - that she resents him continually calling or running to mama to share news, or ask questions. If the situation is a simple matter of sharing with mama, it may be best to loosen the reins because when the reins become too tight, the mama's boy may snap the reins and run away into pastures unknown for the rest of his natural born days. Besides, sharing with mama can be a very desirable trait. What is more appealing in a man? Love or hate? And a man who hates or resents his own mother may be harboring ill feelings towards women in general, particularly when the mama has been a nurturing, loving parent. Or, there may be other emotional issues that require attention.
It's also important to note that if you feel your mama's boy is leaning too much on mama that you should consider having a brief talk with both mama and boy. Let them know that you feel locked out in the cold - that you want to be as important to mama as her boy.
It's also important to note that whenever an individual - whether male or female has a need to continually run to either of their parents and they end up spending more time with them than their partner, a red flag should instantly go up. Two people who share an intense, eternal love generally keep their problems private - because for those moments spent with outsiders, speaking well of the person that you love is a strong character attribute. And strong character is what makes a relationship work like a charm.
