If your
mother-in-law claims that her offspring is, 'Just like me,' it could be a very
good thing. On the other hand, it could be a very bad thing.
The good
thing is that she will ALWAYS adore her child (i.e. your spouse). The bad thing
is that because you are NOT her, and you are NOT HER CHILD, then you may never
live up to her perfectness. Therefore, you will always be lacking in her hawk-eyes.
You will never be good enough for her, or her mirror-child.
If she
sees you waiting hand-and-foot on her offspring, it will probably please her.
She will translate that scene to represent 'you waiting on her'.
If Mother
is truly being honest and her offspring is 'just like her' then your spouse
and your mother-in-law may form a strong alliance. That alliance may run random
attacks on you.
