The Princess, The Toad
& The Mother-In-Law
Once upon a time lived a princess
who was as wise as she was beautiful. She was
so beautiful and so wise that her royal parents named
her Princess Perfect.
One spring morning at daybreak, Princess
Perfect decided to take a walk by the pond as she pondered
on her 21st birthday. She was contemplating a career
move, for one can only be a princess for so long.
Down by the water's edge she heard
a mournful croaking sound, which led her to an ugly
frog who told her, "Beautiful princess, please
grant me a tiny kiss to remove me from my present pondly
state."
Totally enchanted by the ugly frog's
plea for help, and also remembering her friend Princess
Lola's experience with a local frog-prince, Princess Perfect did not hesitate in
giving him her kiss - to which he instantly transformed
into a handsome prince of sorts.
After successful self-help
treatment for the warts on her luscious lips, Princess
Perfect had come to make two decisions: 1. She would
leave her fairytale princess job and concentrate on
becoming a doctor and 2. she would marry the prince
within a fortnight.
After the wedding, by and by Doctor
Perfect, formerly known as Princess Perfect, met her
handsome husband's mother. From that moment on, life
was never the same.....
In mother's eyes, Perfect could do
no right. She couldn't cook right, clean right, talk
right, drive a chariot right - do nothing right! Her
mother-in-law was a complete toad, literally - which goes
to show that princesses can be doctors, and toads can
be princes, but an evil mother-in-law can only be a
toad.
