I'm
Perfect & You're Not
What
happens when you are perfect & Mother's not?
You're
quite the fox! Every time that Mother turns on you, you pull a fast one
- coming off looking smoother than butter. She just can't seem to paint
you into a corner. And this is a very irritating thing for Mother.
In fact,
if she can't 'get you' discretely, then she may throw an unexpected all-out
tantrum, directed at you, of course! If deceit won't work, then tears
will! So you don't want this scenario to transpire. No...it wouldn't
be sage.
But if
you think that giving her an inch will mend the gap between the two of you,
then think again. The first time that you allow this giant wasp to fly,
she'll sting and that stinger will become lodged into you.
So, what
to do? Are you really painted into a corner by default? Not hardly!
Your best
defense is to trap the old gray fox. You're smart, right? You've
been dodging her claws for a long while now. Think very clearly and the
next time that she strikes, find a way to expose her meanness. Make it
a clean-cut show, too, with no room for errors.
Here are
some suggestions to help you along:
- Invest
in an answering machine. Keep the tapes for 'evidence'.
- Make
it clear that you do not tolerate individuals who scheme and plot. Yes,
you are doing a teensy bit of scheming yourself right now, but that's only in
defense.
- Share
lots of stories that contain betrayals and unhappy endings. She'll get
the point, sooner....or later.
